Thank You
I’m done writing for the day. I’m trying to land a speech I’m giving next week to the International Thomas Merton Society that means a lot to me.
This has been a busy and productive week. The writing about the economy and the war in Iran have been painstaking work, and I’m grateful to those of you who have read it and engaged with it, and to those of you who have subscribed.
(I haven’t updated the Economic Dashboard with the GDP and inflation revisions yet. I’ll do that tomorrow. It has been updated.)
Maybe it’s because I’m writing the Merton speech, but I feel deep gratitude to be able to do this work at all, which means I am grateful to all of you.
Now to the kitchen, where Anne has already started on dinner and the drinks.

Thank you for your efforts to keep up informed. Will you be able to share your Merton speech after you've delivered it.
Your writing is terrific, as is your Slate political Gabfest podcast, the navel gazing podcast and everything you do. Thank you for your work
